Double eyelid: two main methods
The non-incisional (buried suture) method creates a crease with stitches through tiny punctures, with faster recovery but a chance the crease loosens over time. The incisional method removes a small strip of skin and creates a more defined, lasting crease, with a longer healing period. The right method depends on your eyelid skin, fat and muscle.
Under-eye fat repositioning
Puffy lower eyelids are often caused by fat pads pushing forward, which can also cast shadows that look like dark circles. Under-eye fat repositioning redistributes that fat to smooth the area rather than simply removing it. It is usually done through the inside of the eyelid, so there is no visible scar.
Ptosis correction and aegyo sal
Ptosis correction tightens the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid, for eyes that look sleepy or uneven. Aegyo sal surgery adds a small roll under the lower lash line, a popular look in Korea. Both are delicate procedures around the eye, so ask the surgeon how they protect eye function and what the healing stages look like.
