South Korea’s International Healthcare Landscape (2025 Data)

Official figures released by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), April 2026.

Over 2 million international patients visited Korea

In 2025, South Korea recorded 2,011,822 international patient visits across accredited hospitals and clinics. The primary patient origins were China and Japan, followed by Taiwan, the United States, and Thailand.

Understanding how visits are counted

By department (2.08M department visits): Many medical travelers receive multi-specialty care during a single trip (for example, combining a dermatological treatment with an executive health checkup or dental care). Government specialty tables track total department visits rather than one individual person.

By encounters (2.72M total encounters): This figure accounts for recurring appointments, including follow-up dressing changes, suture removals, and multi-day therapy sessions during a patient’s stay.

Important note on national data

These official figures illustrate nationwide medical travel trends across all of South Korea. They do not represent All Life One Global’s internal client volume, nor do government statistics serve as an endorsement, clinical guarantee, or prediction of individual medical outcomes. These historical figures are not a live counter.
